The Essence We Live

For thirty seconds, I sit quietly. No judgments, no edits, no filters. The first thought that comes up—brief, raw, and full of feeling—shows something real about who I am.

Our essence isn’t just about what we do; it’s an invisible guide shaping our future. If your first thought is silence, maybe your path is about reflection and learning. If it’s love, your choices lean toward connection and kindness. If fears pop up, it shows vulnerability to chaos. And if a sense of progress arises, even quietly, it hints at growth and moving forward. The emotion behind the thought is crucial—without feeling, the mind doesn’t truly capture your essence.

Cultivating this essence is simple but powerful. Each morning, in the first minute before you move or open your eyes, spend 10–20 minutes in a calm, open state:

Let your first thought reflect the essence you want and carry strong emotion, even if it’s frustration, worry, or anger. For example, for progress, say, “I act whenever I have free time, even if I feel lazy.” For love, “I care for those around me, even when I’m annoyed.”

Keep your eyes closed and gently tap or roll your fingers to stay connected to your body.

Don’t force your breath or thoughts. Let your mind flow naturally.

Set two alarms: one to wake you, and another to signal the end of this session. Make this the first impression of your day.

This practice blends your subconscious with conscious awareness. It lines up your intentions with your mind’s natural flow, creating a living connection between who you are and who you’re becoming. Essence isn’t an abstract choice; it’s something you feel, recognize, and live.

In these quiet morning moments, the foundation of your day—and maybe your life—is quietly set.
